Inspired to Dance!
Dan and Jill had a ball videotaping a few segments to send in to the Levity Project to be part of their latest Everyday People Micro-Movement. Our intention was to film Dan and I, then we saw a YouTube clip of “Phil” dancing at his grocery store and we got soooo inspired we sent out calls to everyone we knew to come and join us! Within 48 hours we had set an intention and followed through with enough footage to send to Ina at the Levity Project, and, we had a fun video to post to our own Joyful Living website. Check out the video below!!
Most importantly we had a blast! We started out in the back section of the store and before we knew it we were dancing all over the place. In the meat department, the produce department and even when we checked out!
What was our experience? Well, the gals that bravely came and danced with us was our biggest surprise. Bev, Tina and Marsha are the shyest folks we know and it took a lot of courage for them to come and step out of their box. They’ve already stepped slightly out of their boxes by joining us for Laughter Club. But with this event in public these women did more than break out - they busted out and broke down the walls of any box they thought they had!! We’re so proud of them for showing up and joining us.
And we made a new friend in the process too, a witty and gregarious Muslim named NieeMA. What a gift! A new laughter buddy!
What did the people around us think? We were all fascinated by their response. Most of them acted as if we weren’t there - just flat-out pretended that everything was normal and that there was nothing unusual going on. Even the little kids ignored us. We didn’t even make them smile! The checkout girl and sacker got a kick out of us though. And we almost got them to dance with us. Next time! hahaha! We need more levity in this world and we’re so thankful to be a part of a larger movement that is working to that end - levity and lightness!
So what are you waiting for? Shake your bootie at your local grocery check-out stand! Life is short - have some fun!
And it’s not too late! Send in your own grocery store dancing clips to The Levity Project by October 15th - for the EVERYDAY PEOPLE Micro-movement.You can send your short video (unedited) of you dancing in a grocery store via www.YOUSENDIT.COM to ina@thelevityproject.com. Send them in without any music - just raw footage works best because they will edit all the footage together.
