Making a Joyful Noise!
Dan and I had the honor of sharing Laughter Yoga with a bible study group at a local church last month. We based our presentation on our friend Laughing Laura’s “Holy Hysterics” faith based Laughter Yoga CD. Dan and I laughed with her on that CD, and feel that her message of joy, faith and laughter naturally go hand-in-hand.
Well, these gals had no idea what Laughter Yoga was, so first we talked about Joy! And how joy is all over the bible! After all, the good news is GOOD NEWS!! We could see their eyes light up when they heard things that they had forgotten - like that joy is an important fruit of the spirit or that God sits up in heaven and laughs. Yay!
Then we got them up and laughing! We did cell phone laughter, library laughter and gentle breathing to get them all warmed up. Then we did pass the peace laughter, potluck jello laughter and even sang “Jesus Loves Me” like joyous 5 year olds.
We then laughed together in laughter meditation, listened to Laura’s awesome relaxation from her CD, and ended with heart-to-heart laughter. What a great time we had sharing our love of laughter and our faith with these amazing women!
