A New Approach to Fun at Work!

Laughter Yoga at MetaBankDan and I had a great time bringing stress relief through unconditional laughter to MetaBank in October. What a fun group to laugh with! We had two early morning laughter yoga sessions with their employees and when we left we could hear giggles down the halls.

We quickly forgot that these were “serious” bankers because they were celebrating their United Way campaign with a “Homecoming” theme. Each day they had a different theme and you can tell by the photos that they really looked the part!

First up was 80’s day! Lots of big hair that barely moved when we hopped up and down with greeting laughter. Hahaha! Everyone easily caught the laughter bug with cell phone laughter, chicken laughter and library laughter.Jill & Dan Johnson, Laughter Yoga Leaders and Trainers

Next up was spirit wear day! Lots of competing team colors and jerseys. Even their CEO, Tyler Haahr, go into the ‘spirit’ of the session and had a great time! Thanks, MetaBank, for trying Laughter Yoga, a new experiential way to inspire joy, community and stress release in the work place. Very good, very good, yay!

What did they think of the experience?

“Great activity that allowed employees to step outside their box in a non-threatening way and forget about work for an hour. Ironically the sessions were conducted the same week as our United Way rally took place. Jill and Dan found out that us bankers can cut loose, have fun, and enjoy unconditional laughter (even our CEO – Tyler Haahr). Employees arrived each morning dressed in attire that took us back to the 80’s on one dJill & Dan Johnson, Laughter Yoga Leaders and Trainersay and then spirit/sports jersey attire was worn the next.”

Senior Vice President

“Our staff had a great time laughing with Jill and Dan. The staff did not know what to expect coming into the session, but quickly relaxed and “played” along with the activities. It was a positive experience for our employees who will now remember to “keep our appliance (smile) on”.
