Welcome Karen and Marsha
We had a blast laughing all weekend at Laughter Yoga Leader Training on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15. Once again we held the training at The Dharma Room Yoga & Wellness Center in downtown Sioux Falls and we could feel the walls ringing with laughter by the end of the weekend.
We had a small, but mighty, group of folks at our training this time. Karen, a grief counselor from Utah, came all the way to South Dakota to get trained and we were so honored and blessed to have her join us. You could see the wheels turning as she kept thinking of innovative ways to use Laughter Yoga in her grief counseling sessions. We can’t wait to see how she uses it and what we can learn from her!
Marsha, the daughter of one of our previous Laughter Leaders, joined the ranks and is probably one of very few mother and daughter laughter yoga leaders. Marsha is a living testament to the healing power of laughter. She has had numerous surgeries since she was born for heart defects, and after laughing with us the past two years at our Sioux Falls Laughter Club her blood pressure has lowered and she has reduced her medication. Yay!
Joining us from Lesterville, SD, was Becky, a mental health counselor. Becky was unable to join us all weekend so we crammed as much into Saturday as possible so she could leave with the skills to facilitate a Laughter Yoga session on her own. Whew!
And to help us with the group dynamic of a Laughter Yoga session our regular laughter club members, previously certified laughter leaders, and friends, joined us throughout the weekend. Thank you to all who gave of your time, energy, and laughter to make the most out of the training for those being certified. We appreciate you!
So now there are two new Laughter Yoga Leaders let loose on the world. We told them they “stink” with laughter... hahaha! Go get ‘em Karen and Marsha!
