South Dakota Library Association
We all know the rules of the library - we must be quiet! But, a couple of weeks ago, we had a terrific case of the giggles and the librarian was coming. In fact, a whole bunch of librarians were coming! Dan and I were presenting Laughter Yoga to the South Dakota Library Association and we couldn’t wait to share Library Laughter with them. And, as you can guess, we had a marvelous (and noisey!) time!

This sort of organization is one of our favorites when it comes to sharing Laughter Yoga - a innovative group that’s willing to step out of their box and try something new. Not only did we do Library Laughter, but we had a fun laughter exercise called Bookmark Laughter where we pretended to get books out of shelves and be surprised at what was in the book as a bookmark. Everything from bacon (what a waste of good bacon I thought!) to recipes to things that might amaze you. What crazy thing have YOU used as a book mark??! Hahaha!
Our purpose that morning was to laugh intentionally to relieve stress, feel good and create community. Everyone experienced first hand the spontaneity of intentional laughter and left feeling relaxed, renewed and refreshed. Diane Leja, a librarian from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD, said, "You two are simply amazing and such an inspiration for how we should be living our lives. Thank you SO much for presenting at SDLA. Hope to see you again in the future."
Thanks, Diane! We’ll laugh with you in the library anytime!!
